Medic, also known as a paramedic, played a crucial role in emergency care. Paramedics often work closely with the police and fire departments in emergency session. Different states have different needs and training programs, but all states require certification. The courses vary in length, but the hard training includes instruction on how to react to hemorrhage, myocardial infarction, stroke, fractures and other problems are emergency workers. Students are also taught the proper use of medical emergency teams. Course work includes initial training and exposure to emergency rooms and outpatient procedures.
After completing an EMT program, to be approved by a state accrediting agency should be, a person must meet state certification, including the administration of a written test and practical. Many states require that students in the national register of paramedics to pass inspection. The certification must be supplemented by training medical technologies and procedures are followed, and determines the level of certification, how often they occur, but two years is a standard for many states to renew certification.
While the need for paramedics to grow, training programs in many areas are still very competitive. For individuals who would be more training, the next step EMT EMT intermediate or paramedic. It is recommended that students considering this major step, at least an associate level degree programs paramedics as they are challenging.
